For more than ten years, we’ve quietly given back to our beloved Casco Viejo—not just through hospitality or history, but through heart.
The Casco Cat Community is a local volunteer effort that began out of love and necessity. Long before rooftop bars and boutique hotels, there were cats—roaming the colonial streets, seeking food, warmth, and care.
Today, they are part of the charm of the neighborhood. Locals know them. Visitors notice them. Many travelers even reach out to us to learn more after their trip. These cats have become gentle ambassadors of Casco’s story.
Here’s what we’ve been doing:
- Feeding over 30 cats daily
- Spaying and neutering to keep the population healthy and manageable
- Providing medical care, vaccines, and emergency treatments
- Keeping the streets clean and safe—for residents and the cats alike
We’re not a formal foundation. We’re neighbors who care. We’ve done this every day, year after year, because it matters.

You can visit our site and donate to support food, vet care, and spay/neuter campaigns. Every little bit helps us continue this work.

Thank you for being part of a neighborhood that not only honors its past—but cares deeply for all who call it home, whiskers and all.
